Council hears final FY2025/26 budget and approves a $150,000 FY2024/25 amendment for retirements and repairs

Finance Director Denise Roy reviewed changes to the Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2025/2026, including a $40,000 allocation for Recreation Center audio improvements and adjustments to transfers out to Capital Projects. Director Roy explained that final adoption of the FY2025/26 budget is scheduled for the June 24 Council meeting.
Earlier in the evening the Council voted to adopt Resolution 2025-021, amending the FY2024/25 operational budget to appropriate $150,000 from the General Fund balance to cover personnel and operating expenses. Director Roy explained the one-time nature of the expense (retirement payouts for sick leave and vacation) and gave examples of operational costs included (e.g., fire apparatus tires and mechanical repairs). Council Member Eric Jensen moved for approval; Council Member Todd Williams seconded and the vote was unanimous.
