Legal counsel explained the district’s role: if the water district approves the ordinance it would then be presented to the county commissioners who would follow their code adoption process. “This is an ordinance implementing groundwater conservation measures and updates to the Nye County code relating to water use in the Pahrump Groundwater Basin,” the manager read during the second reading. Public commenters thanked the board for moving the item forward; after deliberation the motion to approve carried unanimously.
