Ed Goodhart was unanimously elected chair of the Nye County Water District Governing Board at the board’s Aug. 13 meeting as the panel reshuffled roles that were term-limited under the district’s bylaws.
The board followed the nomination and voting process described by the manager, who explained the two-year term limit required the board to select a new chair, a new vice chair and a new secretary‑treasurer. “This board in the last two years has managed to spin up … and it wholly lies with Mrs. Williams,” the manager said in introducing the election, and later nominated Goodhart based on his institutional knowledge. The board then voted “aye” across the roll call to confirm the slate. The vote was recorded as unanimous.
