During the meeting’s special recognition segment, Ms. Renteria of CFW presented a scholarship to Kayla Magdaleno. During the public forum Lourdes Jasso of the Calipatria Foundation asked the district to assist in promoting a literacy academy at the Community Center for children ages 5–9.
Trustees also used the reports portion of the agenda to raise operational items: Trustee Frank Perez asked about CHS cafeteria lighting and curb cleanup; Trustee Michael Fong raised attendance-recovery work and Trustee Diego Navarro proposed a campus cleanup day to address the farm and welding shop area. These items were received as information and directed to staff for follow-up as appropriate.
