The Calipatria Unified School District Board of Trustees voted Aug. 12 to appoint Lucio Padilla Jr. as principal of Calipatria High School, serving grades 9–12. The board approved the employment agreement by roll call vote of 7 ayes.
The appointment was presented under Business Item 43. Board records show the motion to approve the employment agreement was made by Trustee Frank Perez and seconded by Trustee Timothy Morales. The item carries the personnel designation on the agenda and will place Padilla as the site administrator for CHS. The meeting packet lists Padilla as the site principal nominee for the 2024–25 school year.
The action followed site reports earlier in the meeting in which principals described staff readiness for the new year. The board took the personnel action during open session; no conditions or amendments to the agreement were recorded in the minutes. The meeting adjourned following final items and the board reported a closed-session directive to Superintendent Angelita V. Ortiz.
