Nye County Water District unanimously accepts 2024–25 indebtedness report and capital plan

The Nye County Water District Governing Board voted unanimously (4–0) to accept the 2024–25 indebtedness report and Capital Improvement Plan on Oct. 8, 2024.
Nye County Comptroller Helen Bay told the board the combined submittal is a routine state filing. "The debt report is also empty because we do not have debt," Bay said, explaining the documents must be submitted to the Nevada Department of Taxation whether or not the district carries debt. She added the CIP is an annual planning exercise and that capital needs may arise next fiscal year once grants arrive.
Board member Helene Williams moved to approve the reports and a fellow board member seconded the motion. After opening and closing public comment with no speakers, Chair Ed Goodhart called the roll and the motion carried unanimously.
The item imposes no immediate financial impact, according to staff. The board did not direct additional action beyond accepting the reports and thanked the comptroller for bringing the district current with state filing requirements.
The board's approval completes the district's routine annual filings to the state and keeps the district on schedule for future capital planning and grant-funded projects.
