Council proclaims Aug. 2–8 National Health Center Week; Outpatient Medical Center to host open house

Councilman Harrington read Proclamation 51 of 2026, declaring August 2026 as National Health Center Week in the city of Natchitoches. The proclamation recited national statistics on community health centers and noted Outpatient Medical Center Incorporated has operated as a Louisiana Community Health Center for 49 years.
Roger Campbell, introduced to the council as the clinic’s executive director, thanked the mayor and council and invited residents to an open house during the week. “Outpatient Medical Center has been in existence incorporated for 49 years,” Campbell said, adding the center is a nonprofit governed by patients and open to the public for tours, information and health resources from 8 a.m. through the day during the open-house event.
Council moved and adopted the proclamation. Council and attendees praised the clinic’s role in serving underserved communities and providing preventive care services locally.
