Board approves CATIP MOU, Title I parent policy and Home/School Compact
Summary
Trustees approved a two-year MOU to provide an induction program for agricultural CTE teachers, adopted Title I parent and family engagement policy for Bill Young Middle School, and approved the Home/School Compact for 2024–25.
On Oct. 14 the Board approved multiple items related to instruction and family engagement. The Board accepted a 2024–25 Memorandum of Understanding with Davis Joint Unified School District to participate in the California Agricultural Teachers' Induction Program (CATIP), which provides two years of mentoring and job-embedded professional learning to clear CTE agriculture staff credentials at Calipatria High School.
The Board also approved the 2024–25 Title I, Part A School-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy for Bill Young Middle School and adopted the Home/School Compact for the same site. District staff explained the Home/School Compact’s purpose as defining mutual expectations for student learning and family participation. These agenda items were approved by roll call.
