That's a huge win," Trudeau said, adding that the airport plans a lounge renovation (funded in part by FBO partners) and expects a full‑time FBO manager on site to help attract transient pilots. She said runway repaving and repainting is being scheduled before the Glider Festival and that the airport will host events and community engagement to encourage visitors to stop in town.
Trudeau said the airport has already seen increased activity—several aircraft have used the field for maintenance and repairs—and she expects more business and community events once tie‑down and fuel operations are fully brought in‑house. She described plans to improve grounds, add flowers and signage, and coordinate with festival organizers on logistics and safety.
Council members asked about timeline for striping and contractor work; Trudeau said she is pressing contractors to complete pavement work before the festival and will continue to report progress to council.
