The Board discussed Calipatria High School's dress-code policy (BP/AR 5132) at length and tabled the item for a future meeting. Principal Mr. Padilla told trustees he sees about 4–5 dress-code violations per month and described discrepancies across four documents provided to the Board. He said he had been instructed to tell students, parents and staff that flip-flops, pajamas and sweatpants are not allowed and that Crocs are to be added to prohibited footwear.
Trustee Michael Fong requested consistent guidance and alignment between administrative regulations and student handbooks. Trustee Frank Perez suggested bringing cell-phone use back as a future discussion. The Board did not vote on a policy change; the matter will be revisited with a clearer, single document for review.
