The Board voted Feb. 11 to create a facilities committee intended to advise on capital- and site-specific issues including the proposed solar-panel project. Trustees Frank Perez and Raul Navarro volunteered to serve on the committee; Trustee Michael Fong moved to approve the committee and Trustee Brittany Saiza seconded the motion. The motion passed by roll call vote of 7 ayes.
In the same portion of the agenda, the Board adopted a resolution authorizing the district to file applications for State Allocation Board-administered programs under Prop 2. Trustee R. Navarro moved to adopt the resolution and Trustee Fong seconded; the roll-call vote was 7 ayes. Adoption of the resolution preserves the district's ability to apply for state capital funding programs that can be used for eligible facility projects.
The committee will provide a forum for trustees to consider facility priorities, including potential capital projects and funding applications recommended by staff.
