During public comment, a parent raised an issue that his daughter’s science textbook had a 2003–2006 copyright and asked about the district’s adoption process. The public hearing record then closed and the board adopted a resolution finding instructional materials sufficient for the schools and grades covered by the hearing. The resolution and supporting documents were filed in the agenda packet (Ref. VIII H (1-4)).
The board noted the statutory obligation to determine sufficiency and, if material insufficiencies were found, to identify corrective actions and timelines; in this case the board adopted the finding of sufficiency following the hearing.
