The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on June 29 approved a resolution adopting amendments to the bylaws of the Kittitas County Fair.
Event Center Director Kady Porterfield said the update was completed with significant interdepartmental support. "It was a successful effort fulfilled with great teamwork from the HR Director and Terese Murphy in the Prosecutor's office," Porterfield said, adding the revisions are intended to "provide better clarity to all moving forward." Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith moved to approve the resolution and Chairman Cory Wright seconded; there was no further discussion and the motion passed.
The resolution formally adopts the amended bylaws for the Kittitas County Fair (as described in the staff report presented at the session). Porterfield and county staff did not identify any budgetary impacts tied to the bylaw changes during the meeting. The board did not request additional study; the motion carried on the voice action recorded by the commissioners.
The board convened for a short, special study session that also addressed a construction change order for the Rodeo Grandstands and staffing plans at the Event Center. The meeting adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
