District engineer reports Pinehurst grate replacement nearly complete; addresses standing water after Tropical Storm Debbie

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported that the MRI project to replace Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grates is about 80% complete and that he will follow up on the schedule for asphalt patching. Regarding storm impacts, Krebs said parts of the community received "almost 8 inches of rain in two or three days" during Tropical Storm Debbie; he noted the roads are designed for 5½ inches in a 24‑hour period and that some low‑lying Club property reached system capacity.
A resident said standing water appears to be intruding through a slab and causing mold; Krebs recalled prior comments that standing water has been an ongoing occurrence and "does not believe the standing water is the cause of the resident’s problem," noting that other units did not report similar issues. He recommended the Club consider adding a drainage connection to Lake E1‑A so water can bypass pipes and inlets and discharge directly to the lake. Krebs said he will ask Mr. Long to comment and include the item on the next agenda for further review.
