On Aug. 27, 2024, the River Ridge Community Development District adopted its fiscal 2024/2025 budget and approved a companion resolution imposing special assessments for the coming fiscal year.
District Manager Chuck Adams told the board the budget in the meeting packet contained scrivener errors and that staff corrected the document before the hearing; the budget period adopted runs from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025. "The Fiscal Year 2025 budget in the agenda is not correct," Adams said, prompting corrections to the packet before the Board voted. The public hearing drew no members of the public to speak. On motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, Resolution 2024-07, relating to annual appropriations and authorizing budget amendments, was adopted as amended, with all supervisors present voting in favor.
The Board opened a separate public hearing on Resolution 2024-08 to make determinations of benefit and certify the assessment roll. No affected property owners spoke; counsel recommended deleting references to "Exhibit B" throughout the draft resolution, and the Board adopted the resolution as amended on a unanimous voice vote. The motions authorizing both the budget and the assessments were recorded as passed "with all in favor" by the supervisors present (Schultz attended by telephone).
