Pete Iosue, village planner from Teska Associates, presented a revised Zoning Ordinance and accompanying district map to the Village of Beecher Board of Trustees on Feb. 10. The Planning & Zoning Commission held a public hearing on Jan. 23, 2025, reviewed the draft, made minor modifications and voted unanimously to recommend approval. Trustee Gardner moved to authorize the Village Attorney to draft an ordinance adopting the proposed Zoning Ordinance and amending the Zoning District map; the board voted 6-0 to approve that motion.
The minutes state that "no major changes were made to the Zoning Ordinance" but that revisions were required to account for new laws and to consolidate changes made over the past 20 years; the revised ordinance will be codified and made available online. The board thanked Iosue and committee members for their work and numerous meetings on the redraft.
