The board approved Resolution 2026‑11 on April 15 to declare an election in the district for November 3, 2026, which will include the seats currently held by Directors Wilson, Israel and Hitchborn. Staff told the board the estimated cost to the district for placing the races on the county ballot is about $17,000.
Directors asked what would happen if the resolution were not sent to the county; staff replied the board of supervisors could theoretically appoint members. After brief discussion, a director moved to approve the resolution and the board approved it in a roll call vote (all directors voting aye).
