During the Feb. 17 meeting Auditor Echo Steffensen asked the board to approve election equipment purchases to support upcoming elections. The board approved purchase of seven poll-pads from Knowink, LLC for $21,310, with Steffensen noting that HAVA funds through the state are available to cover the purchase.
"Motion by Walls, second by Nelson to approve the purchase of 7 poll-pads from Knowink, LLC for $21,310.00 for elections," the minutes record. The board also approved purchase of an $800 laptop for absentee voting in the same session; both motions passed with unanimous aye votes.
Commissioners recorded these purchases as county expenditures to support election operations. The auditor also mentioned plans to host the county’s district meeting and presented other administrative items (dues, insurance) for board consideration.
