Pelican Sound resident Keith Merrill appointed to River Ridge CDD Seat 1
Summary
The River Ridge Community Development District appointed longtime Pelican Sound resident Keith Merrill to fill the Seat 1 vacancy (term through Nov. 2026). Mrs. Adams administered the Oath of Office and staff reviewed Sunshine Law and ethics filing requirements.
Keith Merrill was appointed to fill the vacant Seat 1 on the River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors on Oct. 22, 2024.
On a motion by Chair Bob Schultz, seconded by Assistant Secretary Robert Twombly, and “with all in favor, the appointment of Mr. Keith Merrill to fill Seat 1, was approved.” Mrs. Adams then administered the Oath of Office. The term for the seat expires in November 2026.
During the oath administration, Mrs. Adams and District Counsel Tony Pires reviewed required ethics training and disclosure obligations, including Form 1 instructions, the Sunshine Law, the Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict) filing requirements. The board provided new-member orientation material to Mr. Merrill following the appointment.
The appointment changed the composition of the board’s officer slate later in the meeting when a subsequent resolution listed Mr. Merrill among the Assistant Secretaries.
