The Cameron Park Community Services District board voted unanimously Feb. 25 to approve Resolution 2026-07, creating an exempt operations manager classification and removing the parks and facilities supervisor position from the district's authorized staffing plan.
Staff told the board the operations manager job description had been approved months earlier but without funding; the resolution adds the position to the FY25/26 positions and authorizations and establishes a revised salary schedule. "We are here today asking for that allocation and funding that position," a staff member said, noting an effective date of March 22, 2026, which is when staffing changes are expected to take effect.
Board members expressed support for consolidating oversight of parks and facilities into a single exempt position, saying it should help with succession planning. After discussion the board moved and seconded the item and approved it by roll call; Directors recorded as voting "Aye" were Director Wilson, Director Gilchrist, Director Buzette, and Director Israel.
The resolution rescinds the prior parks and facilities supervisor authorization but retains the job description in district records. The district said it intends to recruit to fill the operations manager position by the effective date; details on the budgetary line items funding the position were included in the board packet but were not read into the record during the meeting.
