Saint George — The City Council voted unanimously to approve a $513,777 budget amendment to extend the New West General Aviation taxi lane to an 80‑foot width.
Robert, an airport department staff member, told the council the original project funded 35 feet of width and the amendment would pre‑build the remaining 45 feet. “The total request is in the amount of $513,777,” he said, adding staff proposes to use airport‑restricted funds and then reimburse those funds as users sign leases and pay impact fees. The public hearing drew no public speakers.
Councilmember Natalie Larson moved approval and Danielle Larkin seconded; the resolution passed by roll call. City staff said the pre‑build approach is intended to avoid later traffic and construction disruption and to allow the city to recoup costs from future tenants or leaseholders.
