At 7:18 p.m. the Salina Board of Education adjourned into executive session pursuant to Okla. Stat. Title 25, § 307(B)(1). The stated purposes were: (a) confidential authorization of certain employees to carry firearms on district property to protect students and staff under SPS Policy CLBCB, and (b) the acceptance of any letters of resignation presented since the last regular board meeting. The minutes record that Board Members Chad Tucker, Jarred Sorum, Jackie Ball, Greg Rice and Leroy Monk and Superintendent Earl Dalke were present in executive session. No votes were taken during the executive session itself.
The board returned to open session at 7:51 p.m. and then moved to accept the resignation of Tomahawk Grimmett (motion by Leroy Monk, second by Greg Rice; vote 5‑0). The minutes note that only the two listed agenda items were discussed in executive session.
