Board approves baseball trip to Gulf Shores and FFA convention travel to Indianapolis
Summary
The board approved out-of-state travel for the baseball team to Gulf Shores (March 15–21, 2025) and for Agri‑Science students to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis (Oct. 22–27, 2024). The board also approved credit for students taking science and math at Northeast Tech.
The Salina Board of Education approved multiple student travel requests on Sept. 9. The baseball team and coaches were authorized to travel out of state to Gulf Shores March 15–21, 2025; the motion was made by Leroy Monk and seconded by Greg Rice, and the vote was unanimous.
The board also approved Agri‑Science students and sponsors to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 22–27, 2024 (motion Monk, second Sorum; vote 5‑0). Separately, the board approved granting credit for science and math courses taken at Northeast Tech for high school students attending the Career‑Tech Center (motion Monk, second Rice; vote 5‑0). These approvals were recorded with unanimous votes in the meeting minutes.
