City Administrator Weasner told the council that a Strategic Planning Meeting is scheduled for June 23, 2026 immediately after the regular meeting, and that the internal budget process has begun. He said City Hall will be closed Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, that the next agenda packet will be distributed the afternoon of June 18, and that election filings run July 14–28 for two at-large council seats and the mayoral seat. Weasner also noted the last Highway 71 review panel meeting is set for June 16 and that a Highway 34 visioning meeting will occur in July.
In department updates, Rapid Spirits (Liquor Store) Manager Olson reported sales are up amid hot weather; Fire Chief Carlson said the Fire Department has handled 81 calls so far this year and that June has been a bit slower; Police Sergeant Rasmus said the Police Department has also been busy. The meeting adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
