CDD to install radar signs and expand traffic-safety outreach after assessment

The board discussed the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 and directed staff to move forward with a mix of education and physical measures to reduce speeding and improve safety. Charlie Krebs reviewed Tier 1 and Tier 2 strategies and said initial education-based road, bike and golf-cart safety measures are underway.
Krebs told the Board that "Three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February," and noted that speeding violations have decreased since earlier interventions. The Pelican Sound Board is also considering changes to its traffic-violation bylaws; the River Ridge Board asked Krebs to update Page 9 of the report to include the traffic study conclusion and to flag areas Board members believe need further attention. Staff also discussed using signage at the front entrance and crosswalks advising drivers not to pass golf carts, and promoting Safety Saturday events.
The Board asked staff to inform residents of existing mandates and return with the revised report and any recommended locations for new signage.
