Selectboard adopts transfer-station bag limits and access policies
Summary
The Selectboard adopted a Cold Weather Closure Policy, Bag/Barrel Limit Policy and Transfer Station Access Policy after hearing concerns about bag limits for larger households and disposal of insulation removed from the fire station.
Resident Simon Bradford told the Selectboard that limiting the number of trash bags can be difficult for larger families and asked whether the town’s policy could accommodate them; Bradford noted that under the sticker rules his rental could qualify for two stickers and in theory allow up to 16 bags. The board discussed the practicalities of bag limits and how stickers are issued.
The board voted to sign three policies: the Town of Tunbridge Cold Weather Closure Policy, the Bag/Barrel Limit Policy and the Transfer Station Access Policy. Bradford also raised a separate operational question: the Fire Department plans to remove insulation from under the fire station and asked whether that material should go to the transfer station; the board noted a person with a compactor truck may compact the material at the fire station.
