Board renews indigent defense services agreement for calendar year 2025 at same terms as 2024

Barrow County approved the indigent defense services agreement for calendar year 2025 during the Aug. 27 meeting. The presenter (S13) told commissioners the calendar-year 2025 amount is the same as calendar-year 2024 and that the agreement includes statutory duties in superior court and appeals plus representation in accountability courts, drug court, mental health court, veterans treatment court, state court and some juvenile dependency and magistrate-court matters.
A motion to approve carried without further comment. Commissioners recorded no amendments; the agreement will continue to provide the county's statutory indigent-defense services for the coming calendar year.
