At its March 3 meeting the Fair Haven Select Board approved a broad slate of appointments to local committees, commissions and regional bodies. Cemetery committee appointments included Mary McNeil, Danielle Roberts, Lorraine Brown, Scott Fomski and Paul Laramie for one-year terms. The board also appointed Anne Findlay, David Camara III, Joseph Gunter and Chad Vijay to the economic-development committee.
Other appointments approved included fence viewers Bob Richards and Claire Stanley; Jason Kupel as the town's representative to the Rutland Transportation Council; Sam Lucci as the Otter Creek Communications District representative; a slate of fire department officers (Jim Heller, Tom Ucile, Don Proctor, Eli Charlton, Matt Decker and Scott Reed); Ray Phillips as inspector of lumber; Bill Humphreys as pound keeper; regional planning representatives; tree warden and weighers; John Lulek to the zoning board of adjustment for a three-year term (expiring March 2029); and Anne Finley to the planning commission for a three-year term.
Motions for all appointments were made, seconded and carried by voice vote. Several board members noted some roles (for example, inspector of lumber and fence viewers) are historic or rarely used but required by town bylaws.
