Board approves police chief contract after routine report from department

The police discussion included operational details: the agency official and staff described 74 traffic tickets, 71 written warnings, two crashes and 10 civilian fingerprint sets over recent reporting periods. Board members asked about nonworking fire hydrants and prioritized repairs; staff said some hydrants still need repair but crews are addressing them.
"I will make a motion to, approve the new contract for Chief Humphreys at a salary of $105,000 flat, with a 3% annual increase through 2030 starting 07/01/2026," a committee member said when moving the contract approval. The board voted in favor.
