The Fairfield Selectboard voted to accept Whitcomb as the low bidder for the town’s 2026 paving project after staff reported Whitcomb’s bid was $0.46 per ton lower and $7,611 less than the next bidder, Pike Industries. David Persons moved to accept the low bidder, Damian Branon seconded, and the motion passed with all in favor.
Pike Industries’ representative, David Davio, recommended the town provide bidders with an expected total tonnage next year to improve bid accuracy; the Selectboard thanked him for the suggestion. The minutes record no further amendments to the contract award at the meeting.
