Josh Sherpe of Friends of Northern Lake Champlain told the Fairfield Selectboard that FNLC has completed a preliminary design and secured grant funding for final design and construction of improvements at Fairfield Pond Beach and its boat launch. He outlined next steps: hire a design engineer, create opportunities for stakeholder input, and follow a timeline extending through fall 2027; the Selectboard will have chances to provide input before design finalization.
Selectboard member Ron Bocash agreed to attend site visits and participate in discussions on behalf of the board. Selectboard member David Persons recommended making only limited changes to the boat launch to avoid impacting kayakers. The work described is part of a watershed action plan FNLC has been advancing with the town since January 2025.
