Larchmont wins $447,927 federal highway safety grant for Chatsworth and Palmer avenues

Village administrators announced that Larchmont has been awarded $447,927 from the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program, administered by the New York State Department of Transportation, to finance safety upgrades on Chatsworth and Palmer Avenues.
The grant award will support enhanced centerline markings, audible roadway delineators, radar speed feedback signs and new street lighting, village staff said. The village thanked the Larchmont Traffic Commission and grant consultants for their assistance in securing the funds. The board did not vote on project expenditures at the meeting; staff indicated the award was informational and will be implemented in coordination with NYSDOT and local traffic planning.
