The Board voted to approve the claims presented for payment during the Jan. 20 meeting. The claims list includes a variety of routine county expenditures across departments: a $155,489.07 payment to the South Dakota Department of Revenue (motor vehicle fees), $38,444.00 to SDML Worker’s Comp, $12,230.43 to Independence Upfitters for sheriff equipment, $5,170.00 to Rolling Prairie Grain Co. for road salt, and numerous highway, building, and professional services payments recorded in the minutes.
The motion to approve the claims was made by Commissioner Troy Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Steve Spilde; the motion carried with all present voting aye. The Auditor was directed to issue warrant checks for the approved claims.
