Emergency manager secures approvals for training, MSAG support and vehicle equipment

Emergency Manager Kristen Longville updated the board on several office items and received approvals for program and equipment costs. The board approved an increased cost of $1,354.70 for a push bumper on the Emergency Management vehicle and authorized Longville's travel to Aberdeen for ICS-400 training on Feb. 18–19, 2026. Longville told the board that the state is moving to paperless systems and that Crisis Track trainings for township employees (Feb. 26, 2026, 1:00–4:00 p.m.) and municipal staff (Feb. 26, 2026, 6:00–9:00 p.m.) will be scheduled, possibly in Sioux Falls or regionally.
Longville also presented a Letter of Agreement with First District for MSAG assistance at $1,000 per year; the board approved and authorized Longville to sign. She informed the board that LEMPG grant funds for her 2025 salary reimbursement should be released soon. Iroquois School was identified as being in Kingsbury County and Longville said she will continue to coordinate emergency information with the school.
