The board approved Ordinance 8-2026 (CPA-2602) to amend the transportation element around Emerson Road West. Planning staff Sam explained the amendment removes a planned east–west connection that would now run through an existing house and instead retains key north–south connectivity and a second emergency access point to manage traffic load.
Sam said the change is largely a cleanup to align the comprehensive plan map with current development patterns: "When that subdivision was platted, you know, decades ago, they never updated this part of the comprehensive plan map. So we're fixing that now, as this property looks to develop," Sam said. Trustees said the plan commission had discussed the issue in detail and confirmed the amendment retains important connections such as a Mariner Drive link to Kinsey for cross-village traffic. The ordinance passed on a roll-call vote.
