He said the Ebola-specific response plan is being revised because the outbreak has spread beyond the two provinces originally covered and that the revision to increase geographic scope and expected duration "will be done in the next 2 weeks."
Harness stressed that the funding shortfall undermines the broader humanitarian response, which must cover food, shelter and health. He asked member states and partners to increase political attention and funding to meet both the expanded Ebola response and the wider humanitarian needs brought on by displacement, degraded services and concurrent disease threats.
