Dave urged the board to consider a grant application for the larger project; members agreed applying is appropriate and that notification about success would arrive over the winter.
The board also discussed adding a mud-season line item and increasing gravel allocations for unpaved roads, with members noting seasonal variability and past reductions in maintenance budgets. The move authorizes the transfer and allows highway operations to proceed with paving plans pending any required contracting and grant outcomes.
