Lisa Slade told the committee there was a minimal increase in the Fire District budget and expressed concern that the Town budget and the Fire District budget are intertwined. She questioned the administrative‑support line and asked that the Fire District be more closely tracked. "As a tax payer, she does not want other tax payers in Town thinking that they are paying for the Fire District’s expenses," the minutes record.
Jeremy Currie, identified in the minutes as Water Director, explained that the $3,560 contract is with the Town Office and covers administrative support such as mailings and bill processing; he added that payroll is processed through the Town Office because the Fire District does not have a payroll treasurer. Steve Heir, noted as assistant treasurer, said he is working to align accounting between the Town and the Fire District. Lisa Slade also requested an audit of the Fire District; the minutes state there is money in the fund to pay for one. The committee approved Article 8.
