The Weathersfield Budget Committee, meeting June 2, 2026, considered two formal recommendations to pass to the Selectboard but did not reach agreement. Ms. Sophia Lashchyk-Tytla moved to recommend a 1.4% increase to the general fund at the rate proposed by the town manager; Wayne Johnson seconded that motion and it failed. Johnson then moved for no increase to the current FY26 budget, with Lashchyk-Tytla seconding; that motion also failed.
After those failed motions, Mr. Johnson moved that Dr. August Murray provide an update to the Selectboard; Ms. Lashchyk-Tytla seconded and "all in favor" carried the motion. Town Manager Gulnick clarified that for any vote to carry it would require a full majority of three of the five committee members. The committee maintained quorum throughout the meeting, but the voting record shows the two substantive recommendation motions did not receive the necessary majority of members present to pass.
