Dakota Dunes board approves water and sewer rate increases effective April 2026

The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District Board of Supervisors approved second readings of two ordinances at its March 16 meeting that will raise charges for water and sewer starting with April 2026 billing. The motions passed unanimously for both Ordinance 2026-01 (water) and Ordinance 2026-02 (sewer).
During the water-rate hearing, resident Peter Canaday asked about fluoride levels in the CID water supply. CID staffer Andrew Tramp said the annual drinking-water report is available on the Dakota Dunes website and that "Dakota Dunes is compliant with regulations set forth by the State of South Dakota." The board took the public comments and voted to adopt the ordinances on second reading; both measures were recorded as effective for the April 2026 billing cycle.
