The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 on Oct. 27 to buy a 40-foot by 40-foot hoop building for sand bins from Rush-Co for $15,835 and to contract Brandt Construction for installation at $8,000. The motion to approve the purchase was made by Ms. Shanafelt and seconded by Mr. Wetz; "Motion passed 4-0."
Minutes record an earlier conflict-of-interest disclosure by employee Andrew Tramp: "Mr. Tramp reported that Mr. Shorma, as a Board member and owner of Rush-Co has a conflict of interest with regard to the DD CID Maintenance Building Hoop Structure for Sand Bins. RushCo. submitted a quote on a portion of this project. Mr. Shorma was not present at this meeting and did not participate in the discussion or vote on the matters in item 6 below, NEW BUSINESS." The record therefore notes ownership of the vendor by an absent board member and that the member did not take part in decisions on this item.
The board approved the vendor selection and installation as part of a package of procurements for the new maintenance building. The minutes do not record alternate vendor bids or further procurement details beyond the vendor names and contract amounts.
