The Richland Hills City Council approved a resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County to accept up to $5,821,025 from county transportation bond funds toward the Booth Callaway Road reconstruction project. Jason clarified that the action reallocates previously earmarked Glenview bond funds and that roughly $400,000 of the county amount represents discretionary dollars usable immediately.
He told the council that the item will go before the Tarrant County Commissioner's Court on Aug. 18 and that staff met with Commissioner Matt Krause and county transportation staff, who expressed support. Jason said the next steps include meeting with the regional Council of Governments to confirm federal funding pathways and then returning with procurement recommendations for design depending on that guidance.
The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote. Staff will proceed to present the agreement to the Commissioner's Court and coordinate design and procurement steps contingent on county and COG direction.
