Council conditionally approves four temporary fireworks stands for summer sales

The Jerome City Council on June 16 approved four temporary retail permits for the sale of non-aerial and common fireworks at locations around town, contingent on receipt of insurance binders and successful fire inspections.
City Clerk Bernadette Coderniz told the council applications had been received for stands at Old Hickory Sheds (901 S. Lincoln) for SBD Fireworks; Ridley’s parking area (1016 S. Lincoln) for Phantom Fireworks (Joee Witter / Phantom Fireworks Eastern Region LLC); Valley Country Store (1466 S. Lincoln) for TNT Fireworks; and the Walmart parking lot (2680 S. Lincoln) for TNT Fireworks. Coderniz said the vendors were the same as previous years and that a different vendor had reached out but did not file an application.
Fire Chief Mike Harrison confirmed there had not been issues with these four vendors in prior years. Councilman Dale Ross moved to approve the four applications contingent on insurance binders and successful fire inspections; Councilman Jason Peterson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
