Superintendent and staff report rising enrollment, Title I funding still unresolved

Mr. Johnson said summer school began July 7 with six teachers and roughly 30 students, and reported K–12 enrollment at about 339 compared with roughly 320 last year. "Approving our last teaching position, we'll have all our teaching positions filled," he said.
Staff also said the consolidated grant and the IDEA (special education) grant have been submitted and funded, but Title I remains unresolved. One board member noted Title I uncertainty could be in the range of $50,000 to $60,000; staff said they were following up with the state after receiving requests for information.
Board members and staff discussed that federal funding shifts may affect districts differently and that the district would monitor grants and revisit the budget at the September meeting when levies are finalized.
