Superintendent Staci Derstein reported to the board that some members of the elementary teaching staff had reservations about a proposed modified quarantine plan and that, as a result, she will not implement the plan at this time. The statement appeared in the superintendent's report during the Nov. 9 board meeting.
Board President Ki Gamble later suggested the board conduct the superintendent's evaluation at the Dec. 14 regular meeting. The minutes record the decision to defer implementation rather than to adopt the modified quarantine approach, but do not include the plan's specifics or the staff concerns in detail.
