The Board of Education of Unified School District No. 422, Kiowa County, approved the meeting agenda and several routine items at its Oct. 12 regular meeting, including payment of October bills totaling $275,867.20.
Board President Ki Gamble presided. J. Wynn Fleener moved to approve the agenda with two additions — an executive session for student matters and time for a parent to address the board — and Paul Kendall seconded. The motion passed 6-0. The board then approved the minutes of the Sept. 14, 2020 meeting and authorized payment of the October bills; the latter motion, moved by J. Wynn Fleener, was recorded as passed 6-0.
The board also appointed Title IX positions for the 2020–21 school year: Brian Deterding as Title IX coordinator; Travis Powell and Stephanie White-Neuhold as Title IX investigators for their respective buildings; and Superintendent Staci Derstein as the Title IX decision maker. These appointments were approved by board vote as recorded in the minutes.
Other routine governance steps included motions and roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes. The board adjourned at 10:03 p.m.
