USD 422 board accepts retirements, hires high school custodian and appoints negotiators

At its Jan. 12 meeting, the Unified School District No. 422 Board of Education approved several personnel and negotiation appointments.
The board unanimously approved retirement letters from Staci Derstein and Luke Derstein, both effective June 30, 2021. The motion to accept the retirements was made by Darren McDonald and seconded by Rosa Hettinger. The board also voted unanimously to hire Staci Stevens as the high school custodian after a motion by Cory Zenger and second by Tony Rhodes.
Separately, the board appointed Rosa Hettinger, J. Wynn Fleener and Ki Gamble as the district’s negotiation team for 2021–22; that motion passed 7-0. These personnel and representative changes were recorded in the meeting minutes and will affect staffing and bargaining preparations for the coming year.
