The resolution establishes a regular weekly schedule with one zone served on Mondays and another on Tuesdays, removing the need for most residents to call to schedule routine bulk-item pickups.
Mayor John J. Lampl II said the policy responds to concerns from neighborhoods such as Harbin Terrace and directed the Public Works Director to set zone boundaries and make operational adjustments as needed. The resolution passed unanimously on a 4-0 vote (Councilwoman Hue Nguyen moved; Councilwoman Lana J. Labay seconded). For oversized or specialized items (refrigerators, mattresses, major appliances), residents are still required to contact Public Works for special collection arrangements.
