Region 5 to host pathways in aviation, biomedical, arts, IB and middle college

Staff provided school-level examples: Magruder will include aviation, engineering and leadership for social justice; Gaithersburg will host dance, animation and SMACS (science, math and computer science) with cybersecurity and biomedical options; Quince Orchard will offer an advanced studies academy, Project Lead the Way and broadcast media; Watkins Mill will host IB diploma and middle college (interest-with-criteria), with Chinese as a focused critical language. Families were directed to pathway pages for course progressions, culminating experiences and program requirements.
