How to apply to MCPS regional high school programs: timelines and criteria

Montgomery County Public Schools laid out the admissions process for its new regional high school pathways: families will use the district’s high-school common application accessed through Synergy and ParentVUE. "All of the final details on the specific criteria for each of those programs will be shared with families, in August 17," Ebony Lankford Brown said.
Staff described three admission types: criteria-based programs that evaluate grades, standardized scores and auditions/portfolios; interest-based programs that use lotteries; and hybrid interest-with-criteria programs (noted as IC), for which middle college was given as an example. The district said application windows typically open in September or October, applications are due in early November, and results will be communicated to families in January.
